Spin Down usb Drive and power off any device when Safely Removed

When a USB device is Disabled in Device Manager or Safely Removed using the system tray icon, a Remove Device request (PnP IRP IRP_MN_REMOVE_DEVICE) is issued to perform a "Soft Removal" of the USB device. The USB device is marked as Removed for Plug and Play purposes, although the device has not been physically disconnected yet.

In Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, when a USB device is marked as Removed, the USB hub port to which it is connected is Disabled. When the port is Disabled, no further USB traffic is sent to the device.
In Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2, when a USB device is marked as Removed, the USB hub port to which it is connected is not Disabled. When the USB hub port remains Enabled after the USB device is marked as Removed, your external drive does not spin down or your usb flash drive is still blinking.

Solution: To work around this problem, a registry value can be set.
  1. Go to Start, search for cmd (command prompt) and run it.
  2. Paste the following command and click enter.
  3. Restart your pc and you are done!!!
Command:
reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\usbhub\HubG /v DisableOnSoftRemove /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

  3. First off I would like to say superb blog! I had a quick question that I'd like to ask if you don't mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before writing.
I have had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there.
I truly do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes are usually wasted simply just trying to figure
out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips?
    Appreciate it!

    1. Thank you! It is not so difficult, first you must decide the topic you will write. Then think which are the points you want to mention and start writting without too much thought. Let your self be expressed. The more you think, the more difficult it is.

I have heard very good things about blogengine.
